work.

Her clientele is largely working dogs - assistance, hearing or diabetic
alert dogs, but also hunters who need help with perfecting their
retrieve. Her real love is in scent work and assistance dog work.

Rita's methods of training are completely force free.

Credentials: CPDT (Certified Professional Dog Trainer), AKC, CGC
Evaluator and frequent speaker at the Academy for Dog Trainers in
San Francisco, and member of APDT.

This course focuses on what it takes to choose, train, and maintain
a diabetic alert dog.
The theme of training is through positive
reinforcement
. There will be lecture time as well as break out
sessions of hands-on work with you and your dog. Everything from
public access obedience to scent work exercises will be addressed.
There will be incredible opportunities to connect with other teams
and get input from multiple trainers. This is a great learning
opportunity for you AND your dog. And, if you are still
considering an alert dog, this is a great place to see what a DA team
really looks like as you explore possibilities!
The workshop will be hosted by Wildrose Kennels in Oxford,
Mississippi.

Wildrose breeds British Labs, a gentleman's gun dog. They
specialize in importing, selectively breeding, and training these
