This course focuses on what it takes to choose, train, and maintain a diabetic alert dog. The theme of training is through positive reinforcement. There will be lecture time as well as break out sessions of hands-on work with you and your dog. Everything from public access obedience to scent work exercises will be addressed. There will be incredible opportunities to connect with other teams and get input from multiple trainers. This is a great learning opportunity for you AND your dog. And, if you are still considering an alert dog, this is a great place to see what a DA team really looks like as you explore possibilities! |
The workshop will be hosted by Wildrose Kennels in Oxford, Mississippi. Wildrose breeds British Labs, a gentleman's gun dog. They specialize in importing, selectively breeding, and training these fine, highly intelligent dogs of superb temperament.
